At LOT, we recognize the environmental impact of our activities and take steps toward sustainable development.

Improving the efficiency of flight operations primarily means increasing fuel efficiency — that means implementing measures to reduce fuel consumption during flight and thus reduce carbon dioxide emissions. This effect is achieved through fleet modernization and optimization of flight operations.

Sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) is a non-fossil fuel that meets sustainability criteria and can be used without infrastructure changes. It helps reduce CO₂ emissions by up to 80% over the entire fuel life cycle compared to fossil fuels.

LOT, striving to reduce emissions from its flight operations, uses sustainable aviation fuel and plans to gradually increase its share in overall fuel consumption.

We are constantly improving the products offered on board our aircraft. Where possible, we replace disposable items with reusable ones. This allows us to reduce the amount of waste we generate. More information about the products on board our aircraft and waste sorting.

We have implemented the IATA Environmental Assessment Program (IEnvA), which confirms that our activities comply with international environmental management standards.

The IEnvA program, based on the ISO 14001 standard, supports sustainable development initiatives in aviation. Thanks to it, we effectively monitor and reduce the impact of our activities on the environment. The certificate we have obtained confirms our commitment to reducing CO₂ emissions, efficient resource management, and responsible governance.
